Pauletta Walsh is a Public Affairs Officer, working for the Bureau of Economics and Business Affairs (EB) in the Office of Economic Policy Analysis and Public Diplomacy at the U.S. Department of State. Ms. Walsh’s domestic assignments include serving in the Bureau of Global Public Affairs, in the Office of International Religious Freedom, and in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. Ms. Walsh’s recent overseas assignments include postings in Kyiv, Ukraine as a Public Affairs Officer, and in St. Petersburg, Russia in American Citizen Services in Consular Affairs.

In 2005, Ms. Walsh joined the Department of State as a Presidential Management Fellow where she worked in the Bureaus of Public Affairs and European and Eurasian Affairs. She wrote and produced television programs that focused on outreach to the Muslim world and supported the promotion of US policy goals in the bilateral and multilateral space. As Television and Media Advisor, Ms. Walsh made substantial contributions to the United States’ public diplomacy strategies, traveling to embassies and missions to produce targeted media products for key audiences in support of U.S. missions in Europe, and consulted and advised senior staff on strategic communications.

Ms. Walsh earned a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree at Pepperdine University School of Public Policy in International Relations; was a research assistant at American Enterprise Institute, and completed master’s studies in National Security Strategy at the National Defense University.
